Art Museum (Jean Mihail Palace)


Built between 1898 and 1907, in the midst of a fever-stricken city from the beginning of the 20th century, the Mihail Palace has 29 rooms (plus chair) of which the most spectacular is the Hall of Mirrors.


At present, the Museum's patrimony consists of over 8000 works of European and Romanian art. The most valuable of the pieces held by museum are six of the works of the titanium of universal modern art, Constantin.

Brâncuşi: Vitellius, Head of Head, Head of Boy, Coapsa, Miss Pogany and Kiss.

Visitation program from Tuesday to Sunday from 10.00 to 17.00.

The Oltenia Muzeum


The Oltenia Craiova Museum was founded on April 1 1915, as a result of the dedication and passion of important families from Craiova at the beginning of the 20th century, but especially after the tireless efforts of the well-known cultural personality that was Stefan Ciuceanu.


Visitation program from Tuesday to Sunday from 9.00 to 17.00.




The history-archeology section


The inhabitants of Oltenia transpose with a lot of admiration and precisely from the traditional crafts of the region. They often organize different activities for children or even for the whole family.


We find: the Oltenia Prehistoric Exhibition, the Exhibition Rediscovers History, the Exhibition Hall "The Royality of Romania and the First World War", the Golden Age, the "Friends of History" Workshops, the "Treasure" Collection.

The science department of nature


Here, with the help of full-size animals and models, children can discover the surrounding world. The museum also includes a planetarium with interesting films adapted to several age groups.

The etnography section(Bănia House)


Bănia House, a monument of medieval architecture and the oldest civil construction in

Craiova, was built by the boyars of Craiova at the end of the 15th century.

Traditional worship artifacts are presented.Here we meet more interactive spaces.

Casa Memoriala Elena Farago Elena Farago Memorial House


The people of Craiova are proud that the poet Elena Farago lived in their city, the one that has delighted the childhood of many generations. In the memorial house are kept books, documents, photographs, letters, furniture and other objects that belonged to the poet and his family. There she lived and wrote until the end of her life.
